How can you rephrase what I want to say with the word some?

I thought you could say "They will some here some time to smuggle drugs" without the plural since it is one time or many times.

An individual might smuggle once, another might come many times. Your second option looses that precise definition.

How about

Some individuals may smuggle drugs once, others may smuggle many times.

Just say, "They may come here once or many times to smuggle drugs."  I would use "may" instead of "will", because the sentence expresses uncertainty.  You have no idea how many times they will come, or if they will come at all.
