why do you think it needs repotting?.... if the roots are obviously crowded or the soil is very old, then yes... but now is not the time to do it.... read here...

Don't use garden soil.  Its in a pot and therefore needs a potting mix.  The better quality potting mix you use the better it is for the plant.  Just a general purpose one will do the job.
