How can you ride a slalom trick ski?

I'm buying a Cypress Gardens Ski Skat and don't know how to start riding it. Any tips?

  1. I'm guessing you're talking about skiing on a single trick ski.

    Have you ever slalom skiied (on a single long ski)? If so it's the same thing, only the boat needs to accelerate faster, and you have no fin. All control is in your ski edges.

    If not, you put your front foot in the boot, and back foot on the toe plate (if there is a strap to hold your foot down, use it). This takes a LOT of practice to get up. The boat takes slack, and once the rope is taught, tell the driver to really hit it. Lean back, dont break at the knees or waist. LEAN BACK LEAN BACK LEAN BACK. Here is another tip. If you are Left foot forward, do this, otherwise switch my "lefts" and "rights".  Put the rope on the right side of the ski, as the boat slowly pulls away. Once the boat starts to pull you, lean back and to the left. Don't let the boat pull you over your ski, fight it by leaning the the back left. once you are up, you will ski to the left for a second, and shortly after have a lot of control.
