Tell me what i can do to make this even better...

-I take my hookah and take the base fill it up with ice and water so that the stem is about 1 inch submerged.

-I put the ash tray over and put the bowl on top very tightly. I even take a puff from my hoes and there is not one air leak.

-Heres were my friends have different opinions, i pack the bowl with little tobacco, but i loosen it up. My friend packs it with a lot of tobacco but he packs it toghter. Both seem to hit the same...

- Then i use regular aluniumin foil and put the shiney side down. I poke a bunch of small holes every were. Again there is no air escaping.

-Heres another problem, When i light the charcoal (quick light, the circle one) i like to put the charcoal right in the middle of my bowl, my friend said that ur suppose to put it on the side... and on top of that sometimes the hookah tastes like charcoal when i put it in the middle...

HOW DO I SET THIS UP!! LOL

  1. You seem like you're doing a pretty good job setting it up, but one thing I would change is putting the coal in the middle of the aluminum foil. I think it's better to either put 2 coals on the edge of the bowl and gradually bring them closer to the center so it won't get harsh. Or you can break the coals in half and put 2 halves on each side and on the bottem and top of the bowl.

Also if you want whiter, thicker smoke try mixing in some milk to the base, it really works, and you can't taste the milk. Or with tropical flavor tabaccos you can mix in some orange juice. You can really create a lot of different combonations.

  2. Actually as far as packing the tobacco goes. It depends on the tobacco and the type of bowl you are using.

Typically, you fluff up the tobacco with a fork or poker before putting in the bowl then pick up the tobacco with 3 fingers and drop it in the bowl and keep repeating until it's about 1/8 of an inch above the rim. Use the foil to push down the tobacco. Lots of small holes. Then hold the bowl up and do a test pull on the bowl from the bottom. If it's hard you might have to repack the bowl with less tobacco.

    Coals:

Okay quicklights depending on the size of the bowl. Two quicklights on the outside of the bowl and move them around every 15 minutes. For smaller bowls break them in half and I do the same thing only 2 halves instead of 2 whole ones.

    Switch Coals:

If you are set on quicklights, you will always taste charcoal. The brand that has the least charcoal taste of all them is Golden Quicklights.

But me personally I have switched to natural coals, I have never looked back. The take a few minutes to light, but it's totally worth it they heat better, hotter, and if you switch to coconut coals there is no charcoal taste at all. Switch to Coco Nara's
