How can you s*x a snake without hurting it??

i want to breed my snake but not sure what gender it is..

I will explain how to do this if you are right handed like me.  With your left hand, hold the body of the snake upside down in such a manner that the cloaca is held above the level of the rest of the body.  With your right hand, pull the tail downwards slightly, and have your thumb resting approximately 2cm away from the cloaca.  Gently roll and push your thumb down and across towards the cloaca, while at the same time bringing the tail upwards.  This whole process sounds very complicated on paper, but I assure you it's easy once you get the hang of it.  I highly recommend you to be taught this method by an experienced keeper before giving it a go yourself.

Some people think that probing or popping a snake doesn't hurt it. I think that people who suggest that should be probed or popped themselves to see how much they like it. I wouldn't even trust a veterinarian to do it, much less a pet-store clerk.

Lori had the right idea. Find the vent at the base of the tail. If there is a gradual taper from the thickest part of the body through the tail, you have either a female or an immature male. If there is a section of tail with an abrupt taper an inch or so behind the vent, you have a mature male.

if u gonna do it make sure u have some one helpin u it a two man job someone holdin  the head n u on the body/tail or take it to the pet stor not petland or petco  they will just look et it n guess take it to a exotic petstore

if the snake is a female it will have a long skinny tail...if its a male there will be a small bump where the vent is.  i havent been wrong yet sexing snakes this way...the pet shop we took a kingsnake to so that they could probe it...they were wrong...they told me that SHE was a male.  i almost fell over because i was sure she was female i already had a female name picked out for her and everything...well it turned out that they were wong i was right.
