How can you stop a scam and get your money back?

Several people have paid a guy to provide a service. He requires payment up front and garantees to have the service provided by a certain date. Then he doesn't do it and starts avoiding your phone calls and won't refund the money. What can be done?

Contact the state prosecuting attorney or the Attorney general. Make a complaint and they will go after him for you.

Depends who 'he' is ...

I have EXACTLY the same situation with a chap called Gorden Brown = he's taken my Taxes for the last 10 years and promised that the HHS etc. will be improved, however nothing has happened :-)
