How can you stop mold growth?

I noticed the mold on my bed so I thought it was just my bed growing the mold because it was getting no air and my room is really moist since it's basically under a hill. So a week later I see my favorite converse sneakers growing mold on them. And my uggs really smell bad and they smelt good before summer vac. Though I only used them in winter. Is there anything I can do to get the mold to stop growing.

We used to have this problem before air conditioning, when houses were cooled by whole house attic fans.  The fan would pull in the moist outside air and all the clothes and shoes would mildew.  So that is your solution: circulating dry air.  Do you have access to a dehumidifier?  If you can get one great, but at least put a fan in the room, leaving the door and windows  open during the day.

To clean the bed, use a carpet shampooer with a furniture wand, using Oxyclean and carpet cleaner, rinsing it well after shampooing.  Let it dry outside in the sun.    Scrub the shoes with a little bleach and soapy water, dry in the sun, or toss in the washing machine with a load of towels and bleach.  If you have a closet outside your basement room, put your clothes in there, especially the winter ones so they won't be ruined with mildew.  An attic might be best, esp. if it's well ventilated.  Do you have a lot of allergies?  Sniffles and colds?  Sinus infections?  If so, you might build a screened room outside for summer sleeping.  The environment is not healthy for you.  If mold is growing on your things, it might be growing in your lungs!

After you clean everything, Get some Damp Rid Bags they come on a plastic hanger That you can hang anyplace,Bathroom, Kitchen, living room, closets where ever the mold is collecting, just read the directions.The bottom part fills with fluid so you can tell when its time to replace them.
