How can you teach kids to eat veges?

If you start eating peas and counting, like "I ate one" I ate two" and so on, until you get to eight, "I ate 8" sounds so funny to a kid that he may try it.

You put them on his plate and he has to try a bite. If he cries, he cries. Set a timer. Many people mix the veggies in with other things (meats to make a meat loaf or meatballs, or in with pizza and pasta sauces). If he eats his veggies on his plate, he gets dessert. If he doesn't, he doesn't get dessert.

Make them fun. You can make them into a cool shape or play games when you are feeding them to him.

I've always thought it would be a good idea to start a garden in the backyard and let the kid help plant and take care of it. It seems a lot more interesting if you grow it yourself.
