How can you tell a difference in a monk or quacker parrot?

My grandma has a monk or quacker parrot and well he scratches at air almost everyday with his claw so can anyone tell me why?

Monk and Quaker parrots are the same species of bird. They are just referred to with 2 different names.

Scratching at the air could be almost anything. He could be waving his foot for attention, he could just be stretching, he could just be bored and moving around......

Monks and quakers are the same parrot but those are two different common names that they go by:) he might just be doing it for attention or maybe its just some other behavior he pucked up. research different parrot behaviors. i have heard that some birds will scratch at the bottom of their cage. sorry if this doesnt help u too mcuh:)
