  1. Australian and South African pronunciations vary from British (RP) in a variety of ways.  Note that South African pronunciation is less standardized than Australian.  Technical details may be found:

    Australian: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_...

    South African: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Afric...

    Received Pronunciation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Received_Pr...

  2. Australians and South Africans speak with a twang, that question is like asking how can you tell an accent from Canada and Alabama.

  3. Listen to the words they use.  They have different slang words.  Alright?

  4. i dunno im from south africa i cant tell my accent from any other british person yet they go to me and ask whats my accent from? lol. i personally cant tell lol

  5. Queens English pronounces the Ts and the Hs more and doesn't have the twang at the end.

It's also good to listen for phraseology. Not everybody in Australia says "Strewth, let's chuck another dingo on the barbi, mate", and not everybody in England says "Gor Blimey, Guv'na" and "Smashing tea Gladys", but there are definite and distinct differences in phraseology.
