How can you tell how old the product (dry dog food) is without opening the Bag?

How long has the store had this product on its' shelves? Is it still relatively safe when you open it and there are "flakes" inside the bag?

There should be a best before date on the bag. If the food is not supposed to have flakes in it then return it to the store or contact the manufacturer.

Sometimes there is a date on the bag, but I don't know if there will be one on your bag of dog food. If there are "flakes" in the bag, I might go back to the store I bought it from and tell them you may have a problem with it and are unhappy with it. Thehy might say it's ok. but they might give you a new one.
