I'm a bit old to start now-I'm 14- but I would like to start skateboarding. I'm wondering what is a good quality skateboard to buy for 50-60 dollars.

I'm also assuming the right skateboard depends on your height and weight. I'm 5'7" and 110-115 lbs.

  1. hmm well i don't skateboard

but my boyfriend does and i

think *zero* and *circa* are very good brands

but i dont now how much they are wort srry

  2. forget all the suggestions of boards answered so far. first of all, the right skateboard is personal preference and it doesnt really matter what weight or height you are, i have a friend named danny and we are the same size, yet i ride 7.75 by 32, and he rides 8.0 by 31. and as of good brands, all skateboard brands sold on trusted places like zumiez etc, are good. not like walmart you get the idea. every brand is mostly the same and good pop in a skateboard is determined ONLY by how fast and good you learn, and the size of the board you pick out. brand doesnt matter. like i said most brands are the same but as far as i know only one is different from the rest, zero. zero sucks because theyre boards along with mystery and slave skateboards which are sister companies of zero, are thinner then a standard 7 ply maple deck. but for you, since you are starting out, buy a blank skateboard deck which costs half as much as brand names do, and dont worry the fact that its a blank deck doesnt affect its performance. theyre still made of 7 ply maple standard. if you have no idea what brand of blank skateboards theyre are you can try atm skateboards, or mini logo. but if you want a brand name one personal favorites of mine are birdhouse, anti hero, and flip. so when you get your board, just pick out anything you like, once you start getting better youll know what you prefer in a board and all that. alot of what i tell people when they ask me this same question, i say trying to answer this is like trying to answer a question about you in the future, you wont know until you decide what feels right etc. adding to that, a decent deck size to start out with is a 7.5 inch. for trucks, definitely get and stick with independent, fromt his day on promise me youll never listen to any other suggestions about trucks stick with independent. for 7 years ive been testing trucks and trying to find the perfect ones and independent is definitely it. as for wheels, doesnt matter just pick what looks pretty to you. as for bearings, bones reds are fast and cheap.for griptape, black magic. and no your not to old to start skating. im about to be a junior and started back in 2nd grade. thing is, i started really learning tricks when i was in 6th grade, because i didnt know anything about skating my first years. but, what happened to me doesnt happen to everyone. so dont get discouraged.

  3. Circa isnt a brand of skateboard, but zero is and there pretty decent. As far as weight and height it doesnt matter, theres only one size of skateboard besides longboards. I suggest a darkstar skateboard, there very nice, light, and have good pop.

  4. 14 isnt to old to start i started when i was 13 and now im great at it

skateboards are all about the same price if u want one wiht a kool graphic

but for a beginner i recomend gettin a blank board (board with no picture just one color) which are about 20bucks or you can get a shop board which are made by the skateshop

if u need trucks to i reckomend tensors which will last you forever so they are worth the money

bearings are the MOST important part of your board you should get BONES REDS because theyre cheap and theyre great for the price

wheels are very expensive but ask the shop if they have any wheels that have gotten old at my shop those things cost 5bucks! the only thing wrong with them is that they started to turn yellow which they would do after u started skating

finally u need grip tape i recomend black magic but any grip will do

    blank board- $20

    trucks-$30

    bearings-$15

    yellow wheels-$5

and ur total would be around 70bucks

thats really good considering my board cost me $110

and i just snapped it :(

ps if u wanna shop online the site i listed as my source is the best
