How can you tell if a sleeping bag is waterproof?

Need to know the below as im sleeping on ground outdoors under a poncho.

Concerning sleaping bags- never buy a 2 season, always a 3 season. Always go to an indipendant retailer, never buy online and always, always, ALWAYS buy a bed roll mat.

At indipendants you can ask questions and get answrs instead of the morons in Blacks and Millets.

well lets see how can you tell if a sleeping bag is waterproof...haha....THROW A CUP OF WATER ON IT AND SEE IF IT RUNS OFF OR ABSORBS!!!!! duh!

try it out in your bath ... :)

Most of all it's indicated on the label of the product.

Get inside the sleeping bag, lie down in the bath and turn on the taps.

If you get wet- well then no its not.

If you stay dry then it is.

Fullproof way to tell.

You cant get much cheaper than this sleeping bag at £9.99 but im not sure about the quality. I ordered a tent off this website and it was super cheap but a really good one so it is to be trusted:
