How can you tell if a volkswagen was made(assembled) in mexico or germany?

Im looking at buying a Volkswagen and had heard that there are more problems with the cars that are made in mexico than those made in Germany. Is it something to do with the VIN #?

9 = Brazil

W = Germany

The 11th character of the VIN is the assembly plant

A = Ingolstadt

B = Brussels

E = Emden

G = Graz

H = Hanover

M = Mexico

N = Neckarsulm

P = Brazil

S = Stuttgart

V = Westmoreland,P.A.(US)

W = Wolfsburg

Y = Spain
