How can you tell if my frog is a boy or girl?and how can you tell what kind of frog my frog is?

i caught a frog and i don't know how to tell plz awnser both ?'s

look at the skin on either side of the frogs head there should be a circle if the circle are about the size of the frogs eyes its a female if its bigger than its eyes by a lot then it should be male

Although it varies by species, GENERALLY, males will have a dark or colored throat, whereas in the female, the throat is white. The male may also have thick "pads" at the base of the thumbs.

To identify the species, you will need to study a field guide for your area.

Why do you have a frog in the first place?

You can't tell unless it comes out with different colours during what would be breeding season. If it does, it's male. And I don't know the laws where you are, but round here I know it's illegal to take creatures from the wild and keep them as a pet. Aside from that, even if it's legal where you are, it's cruel. That frog might have babies to go back to, and it's not likely to last long in captivity once it's been used to living wild. It's like somebody forcing you into solitary confinement in one room for the rest of your life when you've been used to being able to go wherever you want, do what you want, and see other people, and now it's all been taken away. Release it back where you found it.
