How can you tell if there is mould in your AC ducts?

My son and husband have been coughing at night. I have a slightly sore throat that goes away when I'm out of the AC. It really affects them but not my daughter....is it just dry from the central air (not something we're used to...it's a new house) or is it possible there is mould they are allergic to?

Is the house newly built or just new to you?  That wasn't clear.  You might want to get the ducts checked but it sounds like it could well be dust rather than mold.  There's a couple buildings I'm in occasionally where I have the same problem and it appears to be dust related.

You can get an air duct cleaning company to do a free inspection.  They use remote cameras to look in the ducts.
