Sounds stupid, I know. But are there any definate ways to tell if you're pregnant when using this method of birth control? Because being sick could just be something you ate, or your b*****s could ache if they're growing?

I tend to have pregnancy scares every time something like this happens, but it always turns out that I'm not pregnant. Ha.

Discharge, headaches? Any definate ways of knowing you're expecting.

and another thing- I'm only young (legal, though) but why do I want baby? I'm not going to try for one obviously, that would be stupid and careless. But I can't help wanting to have my boyfriend's child when I just look at him or see baby adverts? Is it down to hormones? When will it stop?

Thank you xxxxxxx

  1. stress and anxiety can cause pregnancy phanthom symptoms, so relax. pregnancy symptoms vary, you can have nausea, headaches, discharge changes, sore aching b*****s etc. also when you are about to go through PMS and ovulation, your b*****s can ache. the only way to tell is to calculate when you will recieve your next period, if it does not come take a test. it is normal for all women to maternally want a child. i get teary eyed passing by the baby section at walmart. if you cannot think of any reasons to have a child take more precautions, because the next time may be more than just a scare!

  2. It is possible for your body to make up these symptoms if you really want a child (and even though you aren't in the position, you can still want to be pregnant enough to have these.)

And of course, any symptoms that you are getting could just be attributed to a coming/late period, hormones, or just plain day to day changes in your body, so I wouldn't rely on any of those side effects.

And while you can bleed and spot when you're actually pregnant, there's most times a difference in the flow (lighter or doesn't go the full 4-7 days).

In any case, if you think you're pregnant, take a test. That's the best way. Sometimes, like in my case, you can just feel that you are/aren't pregnant. Trust your body's instincts, and if those are not enough, then either get a HPT, go to the doctor for one, or even stop by a clinic and they may do a free, private test for you.

    Hope this helps a bit.

  3. If you became pregnant while on the pill, you wouldn't get your period.
