  1. if the neck is bending it's probably due to moisture, it just needs to be adjusted, strings can be replaced, you're probably fine but maybe take it into a music shop and have someone look it over for sure. you may not have to replace it.

  2. when the old one is no good anymore...?

  3. When you feel ready to buy one. If your old one stops working but it means a lot to you dont go and spend your money on a new on spend your money one the one you love and get it fixed. You need a new gutiar when you feel you are ready for one!

  4. You need a new guitar when the old one gets so battered you practically can't play anymore.

  5. if its broke

  6. - If your guitar has a crack

    - If your strings break (but you can also get new strings but it's hard to put it on)

    - When the tune is bad

    Hope i helped!

  7. When you see one that you like more, buy it!

  8. Ask a professional.  Ask a guitar teacher or someone at a guitar store.  Certain things are normal wear and tear.  Things like new strings or pickups can be repaired.  Look at what bothers you about the guitar.  Does the problem affect playability.  If so, see if you can get it repaired.  It might be too expensive to fix and worth it to get a new guitar.  Guitars can last decades with proper care so you probably don't have to worry about it.  You can also get a new guitar when you can afford it and you want a guitar that offers you something that your old one doesn't have.  For example: better tone, quality, different type

  9. if its a crapy one i am getting a new one in christmas oo yeah!

  10. when even new strings dont make it sound better...and check if the neck is bending.  If you dont keep it stringed it will bend and sound horrible, then you need a new one.  Its also a good idea to have a couple guitars around just in cases like this!! I suggest getting an acoustic,  martin DXK2, is the best!

  11. If the sound of your current guitar no longer pleases you.

When you first start out learning guitar, almost any instrument in playable condition will do, as you can't play well enough yet to know how to make the instrument sound good anyway.  As you get to be a better player, your ear gets better, and after awhile you start to notice that your present guitar doesn't sound the way you want it to.  No matter what you do, you can't get a sound that you like out of your present guitar.

That's when you know you're ready to move up to a better quality, better sounding instrument.

OTOH, if you're basically happy with the way your present guitar sounds but you don't like the way it plays -- strings too difficult to press down, or it doesn't note in tune all the way up the neck -- you don't need a new guitar, you just need to have your present one "set up" to lower the action or adjust the intonation.

Or if the guitar doesnt sound as well as it did before.

Or if just all the strings are all over the place and messed up.
