Question:

How can you tell if your chicken will make you ill?

I've just had an Indian takeaway (containing chicken), and I suddenly thought half way through, how can you actually tell whether you're going to get food poisoning from it (I know chicken is very susceptible)? My chicken was a little pink (very lightly) and I think this is OK and it's supposed to be that way.

But how can you tell if it's undercooked or 'off'?

Thanks!

  1. I don't like pink things in my chicken. That's why Wendy's has all white meat!

  2. chicken shoud have NO PINK EVER!

  3. if it's off, i cant really describe it but it doesn't taste fresh anymore and doesn't actually taste like chicken.............it has a really foul taste.............believe you'll know it has gone off when you try it!

sometimes the chicken is pink in the middle but it is normal but if it is pink like when you have fresh chicken it is undercooked or if it is a bit bloody then it's undercooked.......

EDIT: it could have been marrow, sometimes the chicken is that colour near the middle of the piece but most of the time it is just normal for it to be that colour.

    hope this helps!!
