How can you tell if your laptop have a tv tuner?

I need a tv tuner for my laptop. I bought one and it only shows me non- cable channels. I can watch cable channels only if I attach the tv tuner to the cable box. I don't want to have to do that. I heard if you have windows media center that you have tv tuner. But I don't think that is true because you cant watch live tv. Can someone please help me?

usually a laptop does not come with a TV tuner, there are very few that have it but it will usually known by looking inside you system hardware list.  Another way is by seeing a connection that you can connect a coaxial cable to.  one would have to buy a tv tuner card to fix inside your usb or regular slots or express pci slot.  I am not sure which one you have.
