  1. Believe it or not - the same way you find quality clothing in a second hand shop.  Close your eyes and FEEL.

If you sit on a leather couch and close your eyes and feel it with your hands and the way it feels to sit on it, you can tell.  Good quality leather FEELS natural.  Less than top quality feels, well,.....like less than that!

I hope this helps you.  The only leather that I would suggest you shy away from is Nubock leather as it stains. Not good if you have children or pets...  Also make sure to buy the Leather warranty..it warranties again, rips, tears, burns, stains, human and pet bodily fluids.  You must make sure to use the products in the kit they give you all you need to keep your leather in great shape.  Nothing lasts as long as leather I highly recommend it and I have been selling it for years..also an interior decorator..Good luck and enjoy,.

  3. Full Grain is always the best quality leather you can buy.  This can be then pigment coated/protected or an aniline style leather. Full Grain will have a softer feel to the leather and may or may not have a grain pattern.

Top Grain has been sanded or buffed so the top part of the grain has been removed to remove imperfections.  Generally speaking Top Grain will have a false grain pattern printed into it and will feel colder and stiffer than Full Grain.

Do not waste good money on a warranty they are generally not worth the paper they are written on.  Instead invest in good quality care products that will keep your leather clean and protected.  This is the key to your leather lasting a long time.
