How can you tell that mitochondria are making energy?

  1. I can tell you that no mitochondria are making energy because the first law of thermodynamics tells me that energy cannot be made.


  2. NO, not visually but by biochemically testing them - see link.

    Measure oxygen production, ATP production, using DPIP, which changes from blue to colourless when oxidised (+electrons) due to mitochondrial activity.


  3. I think if thier are a lot infoldings (cristaes and luman), then thier making energy.. or sumthing along the lines of it... ud need a Electron microscope to c mitochondria
