Someone drove my car recently, and asked if I knew that my car had a turbo. It's a '92 BMW that I haven't had for very long, but I didn't know it had one or even how you could tell it did just by driving it.

  1. Well turbo cars do tend to lag a little bit and make significant increases in power when the turbos do spool up.

  2. BMW never made a car that was turbo charged from the factory.  However there are companies that make them in the aftermarket but I highly doubt someone would go to great lengths to turbo charge a 92 BMW.  My guess is no, your engine is not turbo charged.

  3. with a turbo you would hear a bit of a wine to the engine but i have not seen a bmw that had a turbo yet. look under the hood at the emission sticker and see if it says anything about a turbo.

  4. You get out the car, open the hood and look!

  5. I don't think BMW ever made a car that was turbo. But I could be mistaken.
