  1.   The tails are the best way for some. But like above me states its really the type that makes a diff. Post a photo of the belly and you will get an answer


  2. it depends on what type of turtle/tortoise you have, like res turtles

    males have thicker tails and females have longer and skinny tails

    but its different with tortoises.

  4. The only general rule is to look at the tail from underneath. If the vent is beyond the carapace (upper shell) when the tail is held straight back, you have a mature male. If the vent is under the carapace, you have either a female or an immature male..

    Most of the people asking this have immature turtles and won't be able to tell for a few years.
