    If you think you need hospitalization - go.  The professionals will determine what treatment is best for you


  2. If you feel you need help with emotional problems, the best thing to do is contact your doctor or go to the local emergency room for help.

    Not everyone in psychiatric hospitals are suicidal, no.  There are many reasons people go to the hospital.  


  3. Most people who commit themselves is due to their undergoing a relapse of the psychiatric condition and they are fearful that they may harm themselves or others during the relapse.

  5. you dont necessarily have to be suicidal to commit yourself. they will evaluate you when you go too so they can make suggestions for medication and what to focus on in therapy.

  6. Call a Suicide Hotline - they will talk with you, and help you to gain an assessment of your condition.   They may ask you to call 911 or to go to your nearest hospital Emergency Room (ER) where a psychological assessment will be done by a medical or mental health professional.

    If they find that "you are a danger to yourself or others", they can admit you to the hospital Psych Ward for a few days until you are stable and safe to go home.  During your time in the Psych Ward you will be talking with Drs and nurses and Therapists, they will listen to you and help to find ways back toward being calm, safe,  and stable, and connected to reality.
