  1. I'm not to sure of this subject but ithink it's the flesh above there beaks, also i think you can get the pet or whoever to check because females birds have a wider bones or some thing for the eggs

  2. Males keets have blue ceres (the area above their beak where their nostrils are located) and female keets have brown/beige/tan/white. However, a keet needs to be about 5-6 months of age (at least 1 molt) as the cere color can change a little with age. With multicolored ceres, DNA sexing is usually best unless, of course, a bird lays an egg!

  3. If your bird is young it will probably have black lines running across his head and down its neck- this is an easy way to determine the age and help determine the s*x of your budgie.

If it does have lines- the cere will be either pink or pale blue.  pink cere means its a boy, a pale blue means its a girl.

As budgie ages, the cere will change colour from pink to dark blue and from pale blue to brown.

  4. This usually is easy.Unless your parakeet is pure white.Could you tell us what color he/she is?

Usually the cere(the raised patch above the beak where the nostrils are located) is colored blue/purple or beige/brown.Blue/purple-ish is a boy.And beige/brown is a girl. This color only comes out when the bird is mature.Young birds are almost impossible to determine. So you might have to wait a few months if you just got yours and it is young. If a female, the cere can even get a brown crusty appearance. This is perfectly normal.

If you have a pure white parakeet or even a mostly white parakeet ,the cere can be a faint  pinkish/slight tinge of blue, and I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to what s*x it is.
