How can you train yourself to hold your breath for a long period of time?

I just want to know if there is any specific way you can train yourself to hold your breath...

  1. There are most definitely specific techniques you can use to hold your breath longer. It does take some training though. The guys at this website are very good at it, and their beginner message boards have a lot of techniques. They are also very helpful to the beginner. Many of them are over 4 min with their breath hold. Good luck.

  2. Your lungs can only hold the amount of air that it can hold,you can't stretch it or anything.

  3. There is no special technique for such. You can hold it longer by practicing.

    Like lifting weights, you will probably start with as little as 5-10kg. But overtime and with constant practice you can go to the next level and lift maybe 15-20kg.

    Dont stress yourself. You may have some complications if you overdo it.
