How can you transfer files from a bad disc into a new disc?

My friend made a video and burned it into a DVD-R but when we were trying to play it, it read "bad disc".

My friend isn't here so that means that we don't have the original files. Is there a way to transfer the files from the bad disc to new one?

  1. Coping DVD I always use AVS DVD Copy. It copies personal home video in the original quality.

    I download the software from:

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD copy give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can google some other software:

  2. yes you can. As you can see its depends upon the CD/DVD Drive  to read the data and as in some makes they can read the CD with scratches also as in case of Dell. So try to use some different PC to read it. You can copy the whole thing and save it in hard disc and then from there you can copy it to a new disc.
