Do you just give them tums? Or do you need something special for cats?

  1. cats cannot get heart burn. They do hold food in their oesophagus in a lump for up to half an hour before swallowing or it could be hairballs. Never give ANY medications for humans to cats, especially those for the stomach, as they can injure the cats oesophagus.

  2. Get this tattooed on your arm: don't. give. cats. medicine. made. for. people.

Cats are roughtly 1/10th the size of a human, and cannot handle the same kinds of medicine we can, with very few exceptions. Even if you did know your cat had heartburn.... don't give it anything. It'll drink water and rest and it'll be fine.

  3. How do you know your cat has heart burn?

  4. well idk about heartburn, but our cat got into some milk last week and it gave her really bad diarrhea.  the vet said to give her about 1/4 tsp. pepto three times a day.  she is feeling alot better now.  how would you know if your cat had heartburn?

  5. Hey scratch, I was going to ask the same question!

  6. This doesn't have anything to do with a previous question about microwaving a cat does it?

  7. Never give your cat ANY Over the counter medication unless its something your vet has told you to give.  Especially anything that contains aspirin or acetaminophen. Most OTC's contain trace amounts of either or both.
