My friend who's living in Middelburg in the Netherlands (Holland) was supposedly charged for fraud of which he's completely innocent resulted in getting his credit card blocked and he's currently retracing/trying to renew/requesting for a new SSN and he can't unblock the credit cards without giving his social security number which he lost while living there a year ago......

He already went to the American embassy there and they said he'd have to go to the embassy in Ireland in order to get a new SSN since they can't give him...for some odd reason

his main motive is to come back to NYC for a while cause he 's apparently in trouble with the law there for this false fraud..

  1. To be technically correct, your friend is not getting a new SSN, he's getting a replacement card showing the same SSN he was previously assigned.

As he has discovered, a valid SSN number is valuable.  If someone has stolen his number and either worked under it or obtained credit based on his credit history, he will have his work cut out for him in disputing it.
