  1. Your first answer is basically correct.I would just like to add when in the amp position you need to be very carefull to not put your meter across a voltage, that will blow your meter up. Also muti meters have an internal fuse in the amp circuit so you need to know the rating of this fuse and not exceed it.


  2. You use it as a voltmeter by putting the switch in the V or volts position and putting the leads between the two points where you want to measure voltage.

    You use it as a ammeter by putting the switch in the I or amps position and putting the leads in series with the circuit where you want to measure current.
