movies as well sometimes but on some computers is you have dvds you can just insert them into the computer and watch them you can also put cd's in to listen to them as well

Either 1) download them from the internet  (LEGALLY, please!!) or 2) pop a DVD into your DVD ROM, or 3) install a TV tuner card which will allow you to plug in your cable to watch anything you can  get on your normal TV.  If you have premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc) or digital cable, you'll have to connect the output of the cable box to the TV card in the PC, using either a normal coaxial cable, or using an analog video lead from the cable box to the PC.
