Just go to http://www.blogger.com to get a blog and start your blogging journey. You can use your gmail account to sign in.

go to http://www.blogspot.com follow the instructions to create an account and set up a blog, and start writing.  They could not make it any easier.

EDIT: had an extra comma in the link.  blogger and blogspot go the same place.
