How can yourun 10000m(6.2miles) in 26 minutes?

that's 14.3 miles/hour. I've looked at the 1 mile world record and it is 3:43 which is about 16 m/h. how can you run a distance 6 times in only a slightly slower speed?

  1. It is amazing isn't it. Kenenisa Bekele raced to an Olympic-record 27 minutes, 1.17 seconds.  His last 400 meters was a blistering 53 seconds.  These runners train hard on speed work and endurance.  They have thru training acquired the ability to run at full capacity over longer distances.  Marathon splits are just as amazing.
