There are 2 types of Diamondbacks- the catalog bikes which are available at bike shops and places like d**k's stores,  and SMUs- special make ups- which are sold at the stores AND online. You will not find cataloged Diamondbacks for sale online.

The catalog bikes are sold at Manufacturers suggested retail and occasionally go on sale while the SMUs are respecced to allow a greater profit margin and commonly are sold at a reduced price.

How do you tell the difference? Look at the model name. They often have a name that doesn't match with catalog versions, sometimes adding an SX or a GT or something to the name to differentiate them.

Sooo, I guess what I am saying is that you should NOT buy a bike online- even from d**k's- unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
