Thailand is on the same continent as the UK, so If I were you,  I'd just hop on the Trans Siberian railway, and see Berlin, Moscow, Beijing, Hong Kong,  Hanoi, Saigon, Phnom Penh, , too etc. That would only take you about an extra two weeks, and you'd see a h**l of a lot more

  Air travel is overrated, and wastes a lot of fuel and money and makes greenhouse gasses. moreover Thailand is by far not that great a place in comparison to other less travelled places to see.
