  1. its so cheap over there, for example, 6 of us dined at a beautiful restaurant, 3 courses each and alcohol and it came to £100 for the lot

  2. V. cheap compared to the UK.

  3. Food is cheap compared to Europe  for example..

You can buy every vegetable or fruit in kilos with low price.

For example a kilo of tomatoes for now is 65 p.

A loaf of bread is half a dollar.

a kilo of apples is 2 dollars.

A kilo of banana is 2 dollars

a can of coke is 1 dollar

a hamburger is about 3 dollars..

etc.. But vegetables and fruit change according to the summer and winter seasons...

  4. Very !  A little money goes a looooong way

  5. If you eat local food in basic places it is very cheap - you can have two or three hot dishes and a soft drink for about 10ytl (£4).

If you go to smart restaurants or want foreign style food it will be (a lot) more expensive, fish is usually expensive.Wine is often over-priced. However, you can have a good meal out in a nice restaurant with a few drinks for as little as 20-30ytl per head if you choose carefully.

  6. Not that cheap for ppl living in Turkey

but pretty cheap for lets say

people who live in Germany and they come with Euros

  7. extremely cheap. i know  ten years ago we were buying a pizza and a can of coke in a restuarant for £1 and a large bottle of beer for 45p and 20 f**s for 35p obviously its not that cheap now but its still very good.

  8. You just have to pick and choose where to eat and drink.

If you go to the main strip areas, find a back st restaurant rather then one overlooking the sea for example.

The same applies to the bars and have a few stiff ones before you go out.

  9. If you're American, it's not very cheap. We were there nine months ago and found food prices to be either the same as here or more expensive. Definitely do not eat at any airports - we had a plate of fries and two sodas at a restaurant at the airport in Istanbul and it cost us $30US. A Whopper at Burger King was $8US - and that was just a burger, no fries or drinks.

We eventually started supplementing our meals with trips to the grocery store for bread and fruit. Fruit was incredibly cheap, a bag of oranges was only a few cents.
