  1. ** Depends were you live -

We drink rain water were we are

  2. All the natural water contains dissolved ions(positive valency anions and negative valency captions) within them.Rain water which is formed due to natural distillation process, i.e. evaporation ,condensation and precipitation  is supposed to be in a very dilute solution with very less dissolved salts. All the dissolved ions present in the rain water is within the tolerable range(1-3mg/litre). So, it is considered to be pure and useful for drinking purposes. Moreover their pH is between 6.7 and 7.2 which is good for consumption. But the concentration varies from region to region.

If the air is full of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide, then they all dissolve in water to form an acid rain, which will cause more harm to vegetation and its pH value gets reduced. But this occurs only in certain places.

In general, rain water can be considered as pure.Even now,in some villages, people collect rain water regularly for drinking purposes . It will be more pure over rural places than the urban places where pollution makes the rain water slightly impure.

  3. yes if its water

  4. Hi, in an ideal world without man's intervention it certainly would be fine to drink any rain water. Unfortunately man in his wisdom and for his own enjoyment has littered not only the ground with waste but also much of the air. Fumes from cars, i.e. exhaust and even factory waste have all contributed to particles of poisons suspended in the air we breath. So when it rains all these particles are trapped in the rain dropplets and if it is the water you are drinking then you are also drinking the poisons trapped in the rain.

  5. Depends, A watercycle is the earths naturals way of purifying and redistributing water over the earths surface. Water from lakes, rivers etc are impure but the heat from the sun eventually causes the air on the earths surface to become hot. The hot air absorbs moisture thought the process of evaporation. The moisture-laden air rises to higher levels of the atmosphere. In this cooler  region condensation takes place and as the air cools it rains. And yes water through this way is clean. Acid rain is a different story and it's caused by air pollution and the rain water defiantly isn't clean or safe to drink...can cause such things as nausea.......

  6. depends on where  you are. a region of high pollution will have a lot of acidic impurities e.g. sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides dissolved in the rainwater causing it to be slightly acidic. also a lot of dust and sub-atmospheric particles will be in rain water....yummy. it's why you don't see many people having a huge tank outside their house to collect rainwater and connected up to their water pipes to drink!

  7. h**l NO it just rained the other day and when it stopped my car was just filthy

  8. TRY IT AND U WILL KNOW!!!

  9. I wouldn't drink untreated rain water in an urban area.  The rain basically cleans the air by collecting the little bits of pollutants and suspended particulates, which wash out with the precipitation.

My primary concern when drinking any untreated water anywhere would be the presence of microscopic life, which can also be found in rain (the impact of pollutants is not immediate, but the impact of bacteria can be very rapid).

Catching snowflakes and raindrops is unlikely to be a problem for your health.

  10. Rain water has undergone a natural process of distillation. However, as it falls thru the sky, impurities, such as smoke, dust, fog disolves in it and makes it impure. If you live in, say, L.A, rain water would be very unclean, if you live out in a countryside (far from any industrys and automobiles routes) or on a mountain top, rain water could be the cleanest water you could get your hands on.
