  1. Great gift!

    The name of the Villa where the gardens are is Villa d'Este.

    It's not very far, about 30km, I think.

    you can reach it

    By car:Autostrada A24, exit: Tivoli;

    By train:Roma-Pescara Line, Stazione Tivoli;

    By bus:Bus Lines Cotral Roma-Tivoli (station in Rome: metro stop Ponte Mammolo; bus station in Tivoli: Largo Nazioni Unite).

    Enjoy yourselves!

    This is the official web site, you can also book tickets on line.

    Ciao!

  2. go to ponte mammolo on metro line B and get the bus out. they are not far, i think half an hour. if you get the train out it stops in tivoli town and not the gardens.

  3. Its about half an hour by bus or train.  The train costs a bit more but it is easier to understand the schedule.  I took the bus back and had the hardest time figuring out where the stop was and what time the bus was supposed to get there.

    If you are just going to Villa D'Este in Tivoli you can walk there from the bus and train station.  However, if you are also planning on visiting Hadrian's Palace be aware you will have to take a second bus from "downtown" Tivoli.

  4. I thought the Tivoli Gardens were in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    Sorry, that's the other one. Tivoli, known as Tibur to the ancient Romans, is located approximately 20 miles east of Rome on Via Tiburtina.
