Well we already started to experiment with our DNA, soon we will design humans to have eagle eyes and pather reflexes so yep, it will be within our lifetime.

Not too close at all because the superhumans that you see such as Spiderman are kind of breaking the laws of physics.  No matter what kind of DNA change a person goes thru, the laws of physics will remain the same.

Medicines that can cure us from fevers and serious diseases....

We are nowhere near. We cannot even eradicate simple bacteria let alone engineer a person to have superhuman hearing, vision, strength, or be able to fly. The human race will have burned out long before we get that kind of technology.
