How close should farmer's grow rapeseed crops to houses?

I don't think that there's a restriction - or reason for one come to that.

given how many people have an allergic reaction/breathing difficulties from the pollen, it should be several hundred metres, but there is no restriction at the moment.

Quite a distance away as many people are very allergic to this pollen and it can be distressing especially for children.

The rape plant is related to cabbages.  There is no restriction on where farmers can grow either cabbages or rape.
