  1. It's never too cold.

Just make sure that you have a good wet suit.

And something warm in the car/van for after.

Got some great waves at Gwithian on Boxing day a few years ago.  That was with a 3mm summer suit!!!

Had to come out after an hour!!  Cleared the head though.

  2. Depends on what your wearing.

Dry suit -- Atlantic in winter

    Wet suit -- 60f

    No suite -- 70f  ;)

  3. Given a good wet suit and the ability to tolerate cold, it is never too cold.  People have surfed above the Arctic circle and at Antarctica. RipCurl developed a new heated wet suit this year that may open up a whole new realm of possibilities of surf spots.

For me, I'll surf if the water is above 45F but only if it is a nice day.  No duck diving during nor'easters thank you very much.

  4. NEVER!!!! wear a dry suit.

  5. when you get out and cant get the key in the keyhole of your cars door because of shivering too much, had that a  few times.

  6. When you can do nothing but ice-skate on the water.

  7. it's never too cold, but I only surf cold water like once a year, I live where da water is warm and waves all year long
