How come Alain Bernard and his team were ready to swim and then went missing when the last 4x100 swim started?

Alain Bernard and the rest of the men's french swimming team was getting ready for the 4x100 swim and then all of the sudden when they announced the lineup they were gone. The whole team was in their swim suits ready to go and then they were gone after that.Someone pleeeeease let me know what happend. I love Alain Bernard

the american's out touched the french by 2 one hundredths of a second... they were there, right next to the americans.

They probably got embarassed after the US smoked them in the last relay.

They probably got the **** out of there asap because they talked c**p about the Americans then ended up loosing.  They deserved every bit of shame they experienced.
