How come Carmax doesn't allow buyers to bargain with the price?

I went to Carmax and they ABSOLUTELY kept reinstating that their prices were set and non negotiable...

It is their choice.  stay away as they are closing all in Florida because of fraud and cheating customers in such ways as charging above 2 points on the APR the bank gave people for their crdit.  Law says you can only charge 2 points above. Get CARFAX as most of their cars have been in major accidents whichwere not disclosed and salesman would not get carfax for customers.

Aren't most dealerships that way? they try and sale you a car that they say is top shape and want a lot for them, but the second you drive em off the lot, they loose $10,000.00 or more.. Sad but true..

And if theres no competition, they can be that way.. Shop around don't get sucked into paying what you don't want to pay.. GOOD LUCK

The whole manipulative, high-pressure buying experience that most car salesmen use is very bad for business, and it's very labor intensive.

You might argue that high-pressure negotiations are important to the car companies success, but there's certainly no evidence of it in the US.  They've been tormenting their customers for generations, and now all 3 of them are basically bankrupt.

Tormenting customers is a bad idea.

Here is how it really works. They will make some money to sell you a car. Every dealer will . They can buy the cars cheaper in bulk as a large dealer and sell it to you. No business that's is good looses money. Also most people hate haggling over the price. So if they give us what price they can for the car we are taken back with distrust . It is because of all of the years of conditioning that goes in to buying , the games back and forth I need my boss.  Having them call you three hours later. It all got old for us and them.
