  1. It's a secret underground war we're waging with the flying spaghetti monster.  We figure that if there's no more spaghetti left on earth, then no one will follow him any more, so we try to eat it all.

But seriously - to foster community and oneness - something that the Church at large has lacked for a while now despite the heirarchy of authority.

  2. Because Christianity started in Italy.

  3. They need a break from the Friday Fish Fry's.

  4. Perhaps some.  Don't generalize because the Catholic church is bigger than you think and it's made up of various cultures.  In our country, we don't have spaghetti feeds.  Remember, he that generalizes generally lies.

  5. Because the mostacolli lovers are outnumbered.

  6. It's FSM infiltrating their barriers.

  7. It is about conversion and pasta is a cheap way to go.

  8. They aren't "church sponsored", they're usually fundraisers for the parish schools organized by the parents' groups. I take it you don't see anything wrong with public schools sending home fundraising brochures, or youth organizations selling cookies?  Same thing.
