Because coaching in the NBA is not coaching. It is a bunch of paid athletes who all have egos. They need pyscologists not devolpemental coachs like coach K. He is and always will be one of the best to ever coach at any level. The Nba is set up to fail for coachs, Its a players league. He like the challenge of recuiting and educating the player, not controlling brats. He could have any job in the Nba if he wanted it but he is too smart for that. He could be LAL coach right now. They asked him and he said no so they got Phil back. I am a LAL fan and a Duke fan and i am glad he stayed at Duke, its his home

Because he's not an idiot. NBA basketball is filled with whiney brats who care more about their paycheck's than the fans in the stands or the game itself.
