  1. I don't know but I agree that they have.  Its gotten to where I automatically head for the Lowe's if there is one anywhere close by.  You take something back without a receipt and sometimes its fine, but other times they act as if they are absolutely sure you stole it and once they refused even to take it until I asked to speak to the manager (lol, and then suddenly they took it without another word).

Also, you walk the aisles and its sometimes impossible to get help (other times not so bad, but you'd better not count on help).  Anyhow, this has got to be costing them, I hope they get their act together eventually but for now I guess I'll just keep going to Lowes.

Note - I do love their self checkout, one really good thing they do and really speeds up the checking out process.

  2. Customer service varies from one store to another. Some stores have a low morale while others do a good job of serving customers. Some have great management teams and others don't.  I will say that a lot of the best people have been fired down through the years.

I have heard the same thing but I also hear the same things about the local Lowe's store.  A lot depends on who is on the floor when you come in, etc. whether it is Home Depot or Lowes. It's a bit like comparing Honda and Toyota, not a whole lot of difference.
