Not that I want one, but I was just wondering. :)

I'm 13 and I go to the beach a lot and skate a lot in the sun. I never wear sunscreen or anything, but I've NEVER gotten a sunburn. Is it because I'm dark? I'm one of those dark asians. :)

  1. Its well known fact that "those dark asians" never get sunburned

  2. if you have darker skin, you may still be getting burnt. You may not get a horrible sunburn where it stings when you are touched but you may still be burning. Regardless of whether you have or have not been burned, you should at least be putting on SPF 15 when you go out. You seem to be out in the sun quite a bit so a higher SPF might be better. The sun is probably doing more damage to your skin than you can see.

  3. Yes, it's definitely because you're dark.  Still you should use the sunscreen.  It really will prevent wrinkles and, more importantly, skin cancer. You're just asking for trouble.  My husband is dark, and never has had a sunburn, just like you.  When he was 50 he got skin cancer, and it keeps reoccurring, and he has to see the doc every 6 months.  It's a pain, and you really are asking for trouble.

Please don't take this lightly.  Bless you and good luck.  :)

  4. Well i know this might sound weird, but it could be because of your background. I'm french, hungarian, and romanian.. And because of the romanian in me, i dont get burnt. I'm 18 and i've only gotten burnt once, which was because i was in dominion republic. I don't usually wear sunscreen and i'm always in the sun, i can go in tanning beds at a salon for 10 minutes and not get burnt.
