  1. 1) It could be due to the fact that the golf ball might be worn out.

    2) Could be a mental or physical thing. It takes a lot to play a 18 hole... especially with the beer

  2. You are anticipating shooting well on the back and putting too much pressure on your self to do that. The only way to overcome the " choke " is to develop the mindset for hitting one shot at a time .Your only thought is" What do I have to do on this shot I am about to take ?"  Spend a little time over the shot and then pull the trigger. This now becomes the routine for every shot, whether it is a drive or anything in between  right up to the last putt.

  3. you're fat and out of shape, you can't walk through eighteen holes of golf, stop eating that burger and go get a salad

    that's where you start

  4. You have to ask yourself how long you pay attention to practice each of golf skills. So, if you would like to be strong in mental skill, you should take much time to practice it as well. You may try to see a sport psychologist in which he or she could help you set your goal and give you some treatments enhancing your mental.

  5. You have to be physically, mentally and consistent when playing golf especially on the tournament.

  6. Battle the same thing in reverse, and psych myself out on our front nine then calm down and play well on the back.  So when I can try to tee off on number 10 to take away the stigma of the front nine/back nine.

  7. You may just be tired or stressed. Just keep playing and don't over think the back nine, or worry you will do badly again. Always focus on your next shot, because you already took your previous one.

  8. One of the things that the really good golfers have is a convenient memory.  they completely blank out a bad shot or the last hole and just concentrate on the present shot.  I think you are actually taking yourself out on the back nine...Just play your game.

  9. You have the same problem I had last year. You can think about your score if you want to but maybe concentrate on each shot you play instead of the end result. Anything can happen on the course between the tee and hole. Today i played in the semi-finals of matchplay champs, i hit a really bad drive which left me 150m from the green, then i hit a 5 iron to 1 m off the bak of the green, i was about 30 or 40 ft from the hole n sunk the putt. Never give up on the game until it's completely over. Good Luck.

    Have a good one...

  10. Hello Matt,

From listening to what you have said, I think that you expect to do it.  You have seemed to have convinced yourself of this fact.  I think that you are mentally blocked and you need to convince yourself that you play the back nine better than the front.

If you are shooting par on the front, you have to be a player.  So your potential is there for a good score.

Regroup on the 10th tee and tell yourself that this is your favorite nine on the course.  Your subconscious mind does not know if you are telling it a lie or not, so lie to it.  Tell it you love this nine, I play the best on the back nine.  This is where I excel is on the back nine.

I hope you are understanding what I am telling you, cause when you reach a certain level in this game it becomes 90% mental, so use your mind to your advantage.

    Good luck,

    Steve
