How come I can not see my own status and screen name in yahoo messenger?

Everyone else says they can see themselves at the top of messenger, but I do not see myself on mine at all. So I have no idea if I forgot to switch a busy to available or vise versa. Any suggestions?

A quick and easy way to check your status is to add yourself as a friend.  You may add all of your screen names individually, if you like.

To do so, open your Y! Messenger.

At the top of the messenger are 4 choices:  Messenger, Contacts, Actions and Help.   Click on Contacts.

Click on "Add a Contact" and type in the name(s) you wish to add.
